During the coming months this website will be populated with the results of years spent researching my paternal ancestry and the roots of the Stansfield family. This is an 'organic' project which will continue to evolve as research continues, so please check regularly for updated material.
My own direct line goes back to the early 1500s, when a 'brick wall' prevents me connecting with the roots of the Stansfield family which go back to Domesday. Evidence is supported by original records wherever possible.
Finally, since early 2013, I have been in constant collaboration with Joanne Backhouse nee Stansfield, a researcher with specialist knowledge of the Stansfields and the Calderdale area, and Contributor to the Calderdale Companion. Thanks Jo.
